ALEX gets some nice photo props in Transworld Snowboarding thanks to on of our favorite shreds, Austin Smith. Austin and good friend Brian Fox started an awesome initiative called Drink Water as a way to encourage kids to stop looking to unhealthy energy drinks as their primary source of hydration. Action sports and energy drinks seem to go hand in hand these days and Drink Water is trying to change that…or at least trying to envision a world where kids put down 32oz cans of bull testosterone and pick up some H2O. We’ve always thought of ALEX as a beautiful water bottle (as we should right? When asked “why”, Gretchen said: “Ultimately, we’re trying to make sustainability easy in order for people to get off using single-serving plastic water bottles which are filling up our landfills and devastating our waterways.” So true. We also think you have the right to put anything you want in your bottle and clean it out. We think you should be able to leave your bottle inside of your 110 degree car in the middle of summer with that smoothie from yesterday morning baking to the inside of it, and actually be able to get it out. We’re not asking for a lot…are we?
